Saturday Classes!
For people who work 8-5 every day, we occasionally offer our educational introductory class on Saturday. We understand that it is difficult to take time off of work, and this will allow you to learn more about your health on the weekend. See our Seminar Information section for specific dates.
Preoperative Preparation
In order to better prepare our patients for their surgery, a class is offered to better inform patients of exactly what to expect during the surgical process. It is conducted by hospital staff, and is typically offered every Thursday. All patients are asked to attend one of these classes prior to their surgery. Staff from multiple departments may be available during this class, including the Bariatric Coordinator, anesthesia providers, representatives from the Institute for Health and Healing (alternative medicine) from Abbott Northwestern Hospital, pharmacists, and others.
